Orca, southern right whale and calf, sharks, seals and dolphins. Oh yeah, a green turtle too!
It was great to see the benefits of a marine reserve this weekend, as the inhabitants came out in force.
A southern right whale cruised the coast, a different one than was here last year, which shows that we have a safe nursery / calving ground for these endangered mammals. Let’s hope that continues!
Our wreck boast had orca while there were diving on the Waikato, Ingrid Visser was out with them, following the two big males for the rest of the day.
Seals were still playful, and the dolphins were amazingly playful, a couple of pretty close encounters, as they were very curious when we were in the water.
Neil played with a green turtle in the water, and it was pretty relaxed, hanging out with him for a while.

Cory, the ‘circus guy’What a great company you are… Other than the magnificent dive sites, what made the trip was the crew.
