AnonymousWe ALL had the most epic day out!!! We all got home at night feeling like we’d had a holiday! Visibility was amazing, weather was beautiful and the crew was knowledgeable and fun. We got waited on with hot tea and soup, told a bit of history and other interesting facts and of course had the most fantastic time in the water! What we saw was almost unbelievable. We could not have asked for a better day.

By Simon Franicevic on 05 Nov 2008Splendid Arch, the second dive today and at about 16 metres. About 40cm long, totally excellent eh!
By Kate on 05 Nov 2008Suggestion that it is a Giant Frogfish - Antennarius commersoni.
By Kate on 05 Nov 2008Andrew Stewart, Collection Manager Fishes at Te Papa, was asked if he could identify this species from the photograph (he is an anglerfish expert). This was his reply - “Without the specimen, not a hope - it requires examination of the fin rays (branching or simple) relative length of the illicium, excal morphology, connectivity of the fins etc. etc etc.”
Thanks for asking him Clinton!
